Pip Supporter

PiP calls himself Australia’s only Comic Magician and Hypnotist but at Barnardos Australia we call him a Star Supporter.

PiP was a finalist on Australia’s Got Talent 2012 and has been touring his shows around Australia, New Zealand, and the USA as well as living and performing in Las Vegas. His tours have included sold out shows during the Adelaide Fringe and Melbourne International Comedy Festival. PiP is also a regular Guest Entertainer on Royal Caribbean, Celebrity and Carnival cruise lines.

He is well known for his charity work and has given up much of his time to be a part of events and fundraisers for charity’s and not-for-profit organisations, including cancer research, emergency fund reliefs, and of course he is a proud supporter of Barnardos Australia.

We sat down and asked Pip where he gets his love of giving back and why he supports Barnardos Australia.

Barnardos: Pip, why do you support Barnardos Australia?

Pip: From a young age I have always known Barnardos to be a fantastic organisation, really making a difference in the community.  I was honoured when they asked me to come on board and help with their projects and help make a difference in young people’s lives. Just recently I learnt that my grandfather was a Barnardos child, which strengthened my belief in the great work they do and continue to help their great cause.

B: When did you realise you wanted to be a magician?

P: The first time was when I got my first magic kit when I was four years old. I will never forget it or the tricks that were inside. I told everyone then and there that is what I was going to be when I grew up so either I continued to feel the same way or I just haven’t grown up yet. As I have gotten older though I have done a lot of other things in the arts as well as other vocations I have studied but this just feels right to me deep down in my soul and makes me happy.

B: What’s your fondest childhood memory?

P: The time we threw peanuts in the river... he hated it. Sorry I loved doing skits when I was a kid at school camps. That was one of my favourites. Doing school productions and performing are some of my favourite memories. Also going to stay with my grandparents on the south coast during the school holidays.

B: What can we expect from your next show for Barnardos?

P: If I tell you it will spoil the surprise. What I will say is there will be lots of laughter followed by amazement. It’s going to be a lot of fun for people of all ages.
