Sue Brcic has been named as Barnardos Victorian Mother of the Year. She was recognised for her community work and resilience after escaping one of the world's most brutal conflicts. Sue and her then two-year-old daughter Ines fled as refugees before moving to Australia in 1999. She volunteered for the Australian Red Cross and sending her two children to local schools. Sue is off to Sydney to become the first Victorian mother to be named Australian Mother of the Year in more than a decade.
